Antonio Del Pino, Global Chair of Latham & Watkins’ Latin America Practice, advises companies, private equity firms, and financial institutions on cross-border acquisitions, divestitures, financings, and restructurings involving Latin America and the United States.
Mr. Del Pino brings more than two decades of experience navigating complex transactions on behalf of sophisticated clients doing business in Latin America. He leads a diverse and deep team of highly-skilled lawyers who are bilingual or trilingual, most of whom are from or have lived in the region and can provide clients with keen market insights to handle matters across industries, with a particular focus on the infrastructure, energy, and financial services sectors. Mr. Del Pino has also represented more than half a dozen governments in Latin America and Africa in the privatization and concession of infrastructure assets.
Mr. Del Pino was an appointed member of the United States State Department’s Advisory Committee on International Economic Policy. He also serves on the Board of Directors of the Council of the Americas. Mr. Del Pino also regularly participates as a speaker and panelist on important issues affecting the region.
Mr. Del Pino is a key contributor to Latham’s diversity efforts. He serves as a mentor to many of the firm’s Latino associates and has been the partner advisor to Latham’s Hispanic/Latin American Lawyers Affinity Group since its inception. In that role, Mr. Del Pino works to enhance the firm’s diversity and foster an inclusive environment for members of the Hispanic/Latino community, as well as cultivate networking opportunities and mentor associates on their career paths at the firm. Mr. Del Pino regularly advises on pro bono matters involving Latin America. His work includes representing Acción International in connection with investments in microfinance institutions around the world. He is also a former member of the firm’s Pro Bono Committee.
